Fine Art Photography Prints Of Morro Bay

Let's face it, Morro Bay is one of those California places that photographers keep returning to because of the bay and a piece of rock in the middle of the ocean, there is something about it. The bay changes by the hour — flat and silver at dawn, choppy and dark by afternoon, then gold and orange at sunset with Morro Rock cutting its unmistakable silhouette against the sky. I've been photographing this stretch of the Central California coast for years, and this collection is the result of that.

Morro Rock — the 581-foot volcanic plug that anchors the bay — appears throughout this collection in every kind of light. Fishing boats in the foreground at night with their reflections in the harbor. The tidal flats at low tide with the rock reflected in standing water. The fog burning off on a spring morning to reveal the rock in sharp contrast against a deepening blue sky. It's a photogenic subject, and it seems one simply can't get enough of it. If I had to guess, I think, I also have the largest fine art photography collection of Morro Bay photos/prints on the internet. I literally used to go there 2 times a week and shoot it from every possible location. I even have a saying among friends- "when in doubt, go to Morro Bay". I really stuck by that saying, it was easy to do living in Southern California, it was only within 2.5 hours drive from where I was.
