Zabriskie Point in Death Valley National Park is a surreal landscape of endlessly rippling badlands, where millions of years of erosion have sculpted ancient lake sediments into a breathtaking maze of golden, amber, and ochre badlands that seem to belong to another world entirely. At sunrise, the corrugated sandstone and mudstone formations ignite in a warm blaze of deep gold and burnt sienna, their jagged ridges and sculpted valleys casting dramatic shadows across a scene so otherworldly it feels like standing on the surface of a distant planet.
