Wizard Island
Photo Location: Crater Lake National Park, OR
Wizard Island is a striking cinder cone volcano that rises about 755 feet above the surface of Crater Lake in Oregon, formed by volcanic activity after the massive eruption that created the caldera roughly 7,700 years ago. Its near-perfect conical shape and deep blue surrounding waters make it one of the most captivating geological features in the Pacific Northwest, and visitors can take a boat tour to hike its trails and explore the small crater at its summit.
