First Frost
Photo Location: Grand Canyon, Arizona
First Frost is an abstract tree photography piece that I captured while being kicked out of the Grand Canyon North Rim village! Not by people, but by the weather, somewhat extreme weather conditions. After the arrival we noticed all building have been already boarded up. Nothing was open except of the bathrooms and there were only a few people walking around trying to get a selfie before the snow storm hit the area in late November. On the way out, I kept noticing these patches of aspens sticking out of the snow. They looked like they were trying to stay warm by gathering in groups and keeping close to each other. Since I grew up around birches (often drinking birch water that we procured ourselves as kids)- aspens will always have a special place in my heart. And I recommend you try out some birch water (sap) it's fantastic (and healthy)!
